2022 NGFL Championship CONTENDERS
Now for the changes to the 2022 NGFL Chase system.
(I haven't mentioned it in a while, but it is our 25th anniversary!)
UP Side
NGFL rules state that the NGFL regular season champion gets 10 points for winning the first 26 races.
25th ANNIVERSARY. NGFL regular season Champion gets 25 points!
NGFL rules state that all winners get 10 points for each win.
25th ANNIVERSARY. All winners get 20 points for each win.
NGFL rules say that "point players" who make the chase, don't get added points. They are just in.
25th ANNIVERSARY. Points players are now going to get 10 points added to their score.
NOW for the winners that were outside the top 25 after the conclusion of Daytona2, race 26.
25th ANNIVERSARY. YOU ARE IN!! Start at the same level as the winners in top 25, but no points added.
AND to the points players - 3 points players got in under Chase Rules, 3 players who wouldn't be in, are now IN! (-10 points)
Players not in the Chase...250 points added at Daytona. Finish in top 25 after Bristol2, keep it till round 2.
Finish in top 20 after CharlotteR, keep it till round 3.
Finish in top 15 after Martinsville2, KEEP IT!
Down Side
As many players who are added to the Chase grid, is how many "extra" players will be eliminated after the first two rounds.
We had 7 extra players who made the chase who were not eligible, that means 9 (5+4) will be eliminated after the first round.
8 (5+3) will be eliminated after the 2nd round.
By the 3rd round, we will have the regular 10 players who will run for the Championship.
Then all other rules will apply. Points added will be lost by any player eliminated from Chase contention.
By raising the points & players, we have raised the stakes for the 2022 NGFL championship!!
